DPWH official appointed LU chief

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union -- Department of Public Works and Highways Region I Assistant Director Edilberto Carabbacan has been appointed head of the La Union 2nd Engineering District Office in the absence of the district engineer. Assistant Regional Director Carabbacan reported to the district office based in Naguilian, La Union to perform the duties and responsibilities of the district engineer.
Carabbacan said one of his priorities is the maintenance of the national road in the district.

He said his district is now undertaking maintenance work such as patching of potholes and doing improvement work on the shoulders of the national highway starting from Rosario to Bauang, both in La Union.

He instructed his maintenance crew to repair the rutted road to bring comfort and convenience to the travelling public.

"I am ordering a close monitoring of the condition of the national road under my district and to do repairs immediately," he said.

Carabbacan asked all employees of the district to give their full support for the efforts to keep the national highway in tip-top condition.

"The concern of every employee is very important in the fulfillment of our mission in all the programs and projects we are implementing," he said.

He vowed to pursue effective maintenance of the highway for the convenience of motorists with the support of the employees. "We all work together as one family and I’m very thankful for the cooperation I gain from them," he said
