RHB military chief killed in gun battle with lawmen

SAN FERNANDO CITY, Pampanga – The reported head of the Rebolusyunaryong Hukbong Bayan military department was killed Wednesday during a running gun battle with combined elements of Lubao Municipal Police Station, 310th Provincial Mobile Group and the Philippine Army’s 703rd Infantry Brigade under Col. Jose Mabanta at Sitio E Aguinaldo Barangay Sta Cruz, Lubao, this province.

Provincial Director Sr. Supt. Keith Ernald Singian identified the killed RHB leader as Ariel A Jimenez, Alias Ka Kim, 40, married, a resident of San Antonio, Lubao, Pampanga and head of the Military Department of Pampanga Provincial Functional Organization of Marxista Lennista Partido ng Pilipinas/RHB operating in the province.

Singian said “Ka Kim” was also an organizer/recruiter of RHB in the Northwestern part of the province.

He said the RHB leader was also involved in forced taxation activities particularly targeting fishpond operators and residents in the area.

Regional Director Chief Supt Leon Nilo A Dela Cruz commended the members of the Pampanga police for a well deserving accomplishment on Internal Security Operations, saying this will boost confidence building measure of the PNP ISO Campaign Plan “Maagap Alpha” and the AFP ISO Plan “Bantay Laya.”

“Said RHB leader is also allegedly involved in the killing of former Barangay Captain Jesus F David and Chief Bantay Bayan Ramil P Manlapaz, both of Laucpao, Lubao, Pampanga, according to Singian.

Singian said “Ka Kim/Collins” engaged the operating troops in a running battle which resulted to his death and recovery of several subversive documents from his possession as follows: one Cal. 45 pistol loaded with three bullets, three empty shells for the same caliber and one Honda red Bravo motorcycle with license plate OJ 7788.

Assistant Provincial Prosecutor Bienvenido B Bacani conducted inquest investigation at the place of incident immediately after the running gun battle occurred.
