Complaints against politicians / A reunion

BULL’S HIT
Rudy Garcia

I was at the bleacher watching the graduation exercises where my son was one among the graduates in high school when I suddenly remembered the day I also graduated in high school at the University of Baguio in 1973.

My tears almost fell to my cheeks when my son and his co-graduates started to sing a song as their tribute to us parents and handed their diplomas to us after. The more I felt proud when my son was called at the stage to receive his awards including medal for academic excellence.

Looking back from my graduation day, all of us were excited, happy and sad. My co-graduates who had the award of honors treated us to merienda and talked about a plan for our future reunion after we would graduate college. But then, the plan only pushed through when we already had our own family while some of us were already certified lolos and lolas.

My reunion with my batchmates in high school started well and good that even the administration and alumna were all praises for us, but twist of events came after we decided to call for an election of officers for our UB high school batch ’73, because prior to the election, it became already a seeming battle of supremacy between candidates that resulted to a two warring factions.

When the election was over, some of them did not recognize the winners especially on the winning president thus, they formed another group and elected their officers wherein I was their vice president for external affairs.

I really now feel sad and sorry on what is happening on our batch ’73 in high school because it already came to a point that my group mates filed a complaint against some of my batchmates belonging to the other group for allegedly withdrawing the money in a bank supposedly a joint account, and whatever could be the result is now in the hands of the court.

Nevertheless, I still don’t lose hope that someday, wounds would heal and I would see all of my batchmates hugging again each other just like the good old days in high school, after all we are still of the same alma mater. Happy graduation for a future reunion! Que sera, whatever will be will, will be, just move on and set it right! Cheers!

Is it true that the son of the incumbent mayor of Cabugao Apayao who is running for mayor on the said municipality is giving out money and IDs to the people there? I f this is true, then this should be investigated by the Commission on Elections. I wonder if there is already someone who is a candidate disqualified to run and meted sanctions by the Comelecd for vote-buying. There are lots of reported vote-buying but I still don’t see any candidate punished, by the honorable commission, why?

Guess who is this come backing politico in the city of Baguio known to be an action man, and running for a top position, but got the nerve to keep the media man waiting for him at his office headquarters for an official appointment he himself set. Perhaps he is just too busy in his campaign but he should not let this poor man waiting for him the whole day, or he forgot about palabra de honor.

Just last week of March this year 2010, two females who allegedly are members of the budol budol gang were arrested by elements of Compac 3, station 7 of Baguio Police Station on a complaint that that accused offered fancy jewelries in exchange for money to a complainant.

However, after efforts of the police to accost and try to put the suspects behind bar, the complainant decided not to push through in filling her complaint the reason the police could not do otherwise but to set free the suspects.

Sad to say but similar incidents happen almost in all police precinct the reason perhaps that criminal elements become bolder by day. We can’t blame some of the policemen in being disappointed with this kind of system. They are exerting all their efforts for nothing. Now who do you think is to be blamed for the swarming of criminals on every nook and cranny in Baguio? I guess we still have good cops around, only we need to do our art.

This lady candidate who is running for the position in the city of Baguio should be reminded that she should not be onion skinned on criticisms especially on election violations she accused of. Instead of talking, she should correct what she is supposed to do from her mistakes.
