Chavit's son to face hard times in House

BAGUIO CITY– Jailed Ilocos Sur second district Rep. Ronald Singson will have a hard time dealing with his peers at the House of Representatives, colleague and godfather Baguio Rep. Bernardo Vergara.

The opposition is set to get the ethics committee and Singson will be hard put getting out of the mess after hurdling the drug case he is facing in Hong Kong.

Some congressmen are set to file complaints at the ethics committee against Singson.

This, while family critics in his home province are pressing for a declaration of “vacancy” for his post, Ilocanos in Singson’s bailiwick are reportedly still backing their leader.

The hearing of drug trafficking charges filed against him in Hong Kong was set Aug. 19.

Singson’s followers are reportedly mad at actress Lovie Poe for denying any romantic link with the Ilocano lawmaker.

Ilocanos said they had seen the actress at Singson’s campaign sorties in the run-up to the May 10 polls.
