Man’s body found at Tuba riverside; maid dies of heart failure


TUBA, Benguet – No relatives of an unidentified man whose body was found along a riverside here August 13 at about 9 a.m. has claimed his body.

Lory Grace Austria, municipal health officer said the body was found at Barangay Tadiangan by Cristobal Y. Dontogan, 23 and Emil D. Batanes, 16, both single and residents of said place.

Both said while they were walking along the Kagaling River of said barangay, they noticed a person wearing black underwear lying on his back beneath a stone that prompted them to report the matter to barangay chairman Daniel Fernando who reported the same to Tuba police.

Further, the victim who was in state of decomposition was described to be a male, a little more than five feet tall, sporting short black and white hair and with rubber arm band on his left wrist.

The cadaver was brought at La Paz Funeral Homes in Baguio city for autopsy and identification.

Meanwhile, a housemaid reportedly died of cardiac arrest in Balili, La Trinidad, Benguet, August 12.

The victim was identified as Grechen I. Ibuos, 21 of Badoc, Ilocos Norte and resident of FC 370 Balili, La Trinidad.

Glenda, younger sister of the victim said she woke up at about 4 a.m. and tried to wake up her elder sister but she was not responding so she informed their employers and brought the victim to the Benguet General Hospital for medical attention.

The attending physician tried to revive the victim but the victim was not responding. The attending physician said the cause of the victim’s death was cardiac arrest.

The cadaver of the victim now lies at the morgue of ofBeGH.
