BAGUIO CITY – The city government has bared procedure in availing of financial assistance for poor patients under its “Indigent Patient Program.”
Mayor Mauricio Domogan signed Administrative order No. 96 series of 2011 for the adoption of a flow chart which explains in detail the steps and procedures in availing the financial assistance to indigent patients who are residents of the city.
Patients wanting to avail of the financial assistance will first approach a SanguniangPanglungsod member and secure a referral letter addressed to the City social Welfare and Development Office,
The SP member then refers the client to the OCSWADO for assessment wherein they are evaluated if qualified for the service.
If qualified, the OCSWADO prepares the letter addressed to the City Mayor stating that the client has been evaluated and is qualified for the program.
The city mayor’s office will then prepare an endorsement in the form of a Guarantee Letter addressed to Hospital Director of the BGHMC for the provision of the medical assistance.
However, if the client does not qualify for the service as per assessment and determination of the OCSWADO, other interventions will be provided by the said office.
The program took effect through a memorandum of agreement entered by the city and Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center and made available for indigent residents seeking treatment, confinement and other medical procedure.
A medical assistance fund was established at the BGHMC for the said undertaking.
