HINGYON,Ifugao -- The municipal government is stepping-up the completion of the Food Work Program of the national government being implemented in barangays here.
Social Welfare officer EvagelineAyangwa said their office was closely coordinating with all barangay captains to hasten completion of said projects proposed by the beneficiaries themselves.
“At present, the implementation of the Food for Work program is 90 percent and it would be finished early this month as stated in the project proposal,” she said.
Ayangwa said there are 187 beneficiaries of said program in the 11 barangays to help in the rehabilitation of roads and irrigation systems in their respective places. These beneficiaries are indigent farmers selected based on the national targeting system to ensure that they are really qualified for the program,” she said.
Ayangwa said beneficiaries will work for 11 days each with a rate of P254 daily.
An amount of P522,478 was allotted by the national government through the Department of Social Welfare and Developmentto fund the program in the municipality.
She added the willingness and cooperation of the beneficiaries and the local officials of the municipality would help in the early completion of the FWP. “We would like to thank every stake holder of this program for their full understanding of the nature of the work being undertaken by the beneficiaries.”
The Food Work Program is a project of the DSWD and the World Food Program of the United Nations to help affected families during the past typhoons.
