2 men in shooting of trike driver identified, hunted

BANGUED , Abra -- Police are now tracking two men who shot a tricycle driver on Sept. 21 at about 9:45a.m. here at the corner of Peňarubia and Acosta streets. Zone 3 after they were positively identified by a witness.

Police identified the victim as Joel B. Adame, 28 of Barangay Sta. Rosa of this capital town.

Investigation conducted by the Bangued police bared the victim was driving his tricycle when the suspects who came from behind riding on a Honda XRM motorcycle without plate number suddenly shot him several times.

The victim sustained four gunshot wounds on his back but managed to drive bringing himself to the Seares Hospital but expired while undergoing medical treatment.
Police found fired cartridges from a Cal. 45.

On the same day at about 2 p.m., a tricycle driver identified as Mamerto .B Adame, 32, of Barangay Sta. Rosa here voluntarily appeared at the Bangued police station and reported that he witnessed the shooting of the victim.

Prior to the incident, he was also driving his tricycle looking for passengers when he witnessed the incident and identified the suspects as Goeffrey Rodriguez, a native of Lagayan, Abra as the gunman while Elli Abanilla both presently residing at Barangay Sta. Rosa, Bangued was the driver of the motorcycle.

Joint follow-up operation is being conducted by the Provincial Investigation Division Management Branch and Bangued police to arrest the suspects.

Appropriate charges against the suspects are now being readied for filing in court
