TABUK CITY – Marijuana bricks worth close to P2 million were confiscated by joint personnel of 3rd Maneuver Company Regional Public Safety Battalion and Provincial Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Group of Kalinga Police Provincial Office on Oct. 29 at about 6:15 p.m.at a checkpoint at Block 3 in Barangay Bulanao.
Earlier, information was received by members of the 3rd MC RPSB that a man riding on a motorcycle will transport two sacks of marijuana bricks from Tinglayan, Kalinga to a bus terminal at Bulanao, Tabuk.
Immediately, police set up a checkpoint at Block 3 in Bulanao where a speeding motorcycle suddenly stopped upon seeing the operatives.
The motorcycle got out of control and the unidentified driver fell down but managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness.
The team confiscated 70 marijuana bricks valued at P750,000 wrapped with paper inside two red sacks and a red motorcycle without plate number.
The marijuana bricks were turned over to Kalinga provincial police office while the motorcycle was brought to 3rd MC office for safekeeping.
Kalinga police are still trying to determine identity of the suspect and owner of the motorcycle used in the crime.
