Mayor urges understanding amid road closures, repairs



BAGUIO CITY – The mayor here has has appealed for understanding from the public over road closures and repairs saying projects are being fast-tracked, for these to be finished before the rainy season and opening of classes.
           
“We urge the indulgence of the riding public and motorists,” Mayor Mauricio Domogan said. “The cooperation of all is enjoined.”
           
Gov. Pack road has been closed April 9 and is scheduled to be opened by June 9. All vehicles utilizing said area for parking has been relocated to the Baguio Convention Center since then. 
            
Kayang rd. extension was partially closed since May 1 to be opened by June 1, and Chanumst shall be totally closed from May 15 to July 13, as to Administrative Order 46, s. of 2012 issued earlier by the mayor. Public Utility Vehicles utilizing the area for parking have also been allocated to an adjacent area.    
            
Said roads are closed for rehabilitation/reconstruction/upgrading of damaged paved national roads, by the Department of Public Works and Highways.    
           
As stated in the AO,  light vehicles from Naguilianrd going to the central business district area should take the Queen of Peace road while heavy vehicles, trucks, buses, mini buses, PUJs are advised to turn right along Yandoc road.
