BAGUIO
CITY – The city government plans to increase the rental fees for the various
concessionaires at Burnham Park.
Mayor
Mauricio Domogan on Monday said the city needs to update the schedule of fees
for businesses operating at the park to generate more fund for its upkeep and
management.
The
schedule of fees has also been outdated and the rates are now way below par if
compared to the prevailing rates at the central business district.
The
mayor said initial feedbacks indicated that most of the businesses operating at
the park including the boating, bicycle and food stall concessionaires are
receptive to the proposed adjustment in rental rates save for a number who are
opposed.
He
said negotiations are also ongoing for the increase in the monthly rental of
the Ganza and Solibao restaurants from P5,000 to possibly P37,000.
The
mayor said a dialogue will be conducted with the businessmen to iron out the
new rates.
