Ilocos police chief orders probe on ABC head’s slay

ALAMINOS CITY- Regional police director Chief Supt. Franklin Bucayu ordered Thursday a thorough investigation into the killing of the president of Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) here  and bring the culprits to jail.

The Pangasinan police office formed Special Investigation Task Group “Sagana” to probe the shooting to death of Reynaldo E. Sagana here August 11.

 Citing police reports, Bucayu said Sagana, 43, of Barangay Boboy, Agno and incumbent ABC president, was in the premises of Hidden Paradise Videoke Bar here at Barangay Amandiego, Alaminos City, when an unidentified suspect shot him with  a  Cal.45.

 The unindentified gunman shot the victim close range in the head and chest.

The victim was rushed to Alaminos Doctor’s Hospital in Barangay Bolaney where he was declared dead on arrival.

Bucayu ordered Senior Supt. Mariano Luis M. Verzosa Jr., office-in- charge of Pangasinan PPO, to lead the “Sagana”. 

 Members of the probe body also included officers from provincial crime laboratory, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and the Regional Intelligence Office.

 Police recovered from the crime scene four slugs of Cal.45 pistol.
