DANGWA, La Trinidad, Benguet – Seventeen wanted persons were arrested in the
Cordillera August as police implemented a directive of regional police director
Chief Supt. Benjamin B. Magalong to lessen crime in the region.
Included
in the arrests were five wanted persons in Benguet and Ifugao who were nabbed
August 23.
Lamut,
Ifugao police led by Senior Insp. Robert Addun and Regional Intelligence
Unit-14 personnel nabbed Robert Butic Ananayo, 37, of Barangay Payawan, Lamut
at Poblacion West in the town.
This,
after a warrant was issued by Municipal Circuit Trial Court for serious
physical injury.
The
accused posted bail for his temporary liberty.
Meanwhile,
Buguias, Benguet police headed by Chief
Insp. Damian D. Olsim nabbed in Barangay Abatan Gloria Fidela G.Tumpap, 48 of
the barangay for malversation of funds.
Tumpap,
a government employee of the Provincial Environmental Natural Resources Office
of Benguet was arrested after the Regional Trial Court, Branch 64, La Trinidad,
Benguet issued a warrant for her arrest wherein a bail bond of P1,066,000 was
issued for her temporary liberty.
In
another incident, Rogel Q. Terso, 32, of Tuba, Benguet was arrested at his
residence by local police led by Chief Insp. Marlo Evasco.
The
suspect was apprehended by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial
Court, Branch 9, Family Court of La Trinidad, Benguet for alleged violation of
Republic Act 9262 (law on violence against women and children.)
The
accused posted bail.
Still
in Benguet, Tublay police nabbed Anthony
C. Kinga, 32 at his residence at Duban, Palew in the town.
He
was also arrested for violation of RA 9262 with a recommended bail bond of
P80,000.
Kinga
was brought to Tublay police station and later turned over to the Benguet
District Jail in the capital town of La Trinidad.
Meanwhile,
La Trinidad police led by SPO2 Florante Dugayen apprehended Mario E. Leyte, 48
of Tomay, Bahong in the town for estafa.
A
warrant for his arrest was earlier issued by Regional Trial Court, Branch 63 of
La Trinidad.
Dugayen
was brought to La Trinidad town police station but later posted bail for his
temporary liberty.
