Pangasinan board probes ‘irregularities’ in 4Ps prog

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — The provincial board is set to investigate alleged irregularities in selection of the beneficiaries of the PantawidPamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in this province.

This aftera board member of the 2nd District of this province filed a resolution with the SangguniangPanlalawigan, asking the committee on children, women, senior citizens, family affairs and social welfare to conduct an inquiry in aid of legislation on the matter.

The resolution was filed by Board Member Von Mark Mendoza after he received reports that some of the beneficiaries selected for the 4Ps program were not qualified.

Reports said beneficiaries were well off while others were listed on account of their being relatives or acquaintances of those in government responsible in running the program in the province.

It is not only in Pangasinan where irregularities in selection of beneficiaries of the  4Ps program have reportedly been found but in northern Luzon and other parts of the country.
