Baguio unloading areas set for implementation

BAGUIO CITY – Mayor Mauricio Domogan last week issued Administrative Order 137, s. of 2012 for the city’s bus loading and unloading areas along the Central Business District (CBD), as recommended by Traffic Management Unit Chief P/Supt. James Allan Logan.
                
The move is seen to put order in passenger loading and unloading along city roads, during specific times, it was known.
                
As stated in the AO, buses using Gov. Pack road will unload passengers at PNR unloading area from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
                
Unloading area along Gov. Pack will be utilized from 6 p.m..to 6 a.m. daily while the  right side of Baguio General Hospital Rotunda shall have two slots for passenger unloading;
                
There shall be two slots at unloading area just after the entrance of the Baguio Convention Center;
                
One unloading area is allotted at the frontage of the Insular Life Building along Shuntug street;     
                
Another  unloading area shall be located at the back of Rizal Monument, Rizal Park;
                
All buses should strictly observe the unloading areas, for them to help ease traffic congestion in the city roads.
                
There shall be appropriate signs for the information of the riding public in the mentioned loading and unloading areas.
                
The production of signs should be coordinated and  prepared and installed if necessary, by the Department of Public Works and Highways-District Engineering Office-City Engineer’s Office.  
                
Minor traffic adjustment may be determined by the Transport and Traffic Management Unit, Baguio City Police Office who shall also enforce the order.  . 
                
The advisory takes effect immediately.
