‘Big time pusher’ nabbed in buy-bust

BAGUIO CITY -- A “big-time pusher” in the Cordillera, who just got out of jail for illegal drugs, was busted anew with three sachets of shabu and paraphernalia for drug use.

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency– Cordillera arrested Abubacar L. Calaca, 50, of Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur and resident of 120 Pinewood, Crystal Cave here in a sting operation around 4 p.m. Oct. 10 at Barangay New Lucban, Baguio City, where he traded a sachet of shabu to a PDEA agent who posed as buyer.

Calaca yielded two more sachets of shabu and accessories placed in a pouch.

Around 2.40 grams of shabu, valued at P24,000.00 was seized from Calaca.

Calaca was charged before the city prosecutor’s office for illegal drugs.

Calaca was apprehended earlier by policemen, but the drug case against him was dismissed, in which he was seven months out of prison during his recent arrest.

Narcotics agents tagged Calaca one of the so-called “Big Three of Crystal Cave” identified as new, top players in Baguio City in the illicit drug business and that his shabu supply comes from Manila.

Calaca reportedly ran for barangay councilor in Bakakeng Central, the past election but lost, and prior to his latest apprehension, he and his family and cohorts had plans for him to run again in the next barangay election.
