BAGUIO CITY – Flowers and candles are available for this
year’s commemoration of All Saints and All Souls Day, at the parking lot near
Ganza restaurant, Burnham Park from Oct. 26 up to Nov. 1.
As to
records at the Permits and Licensing Division, City Treasurer’s Office, 162
flower and 18 candles stalls are in the area for the period, with no other
products to be sold.
During the
past few years, the stalls were given spaces along Harrison road, and last year
at Juan Luna drive along Burnham Park. Earlier, the side of Melvin Jones was
about to be designated as selling area, but a better space was seen at the
vacant parking lot.
Guidelines
for the activity states that cleanliness of the area should be maintained, no
cooking, no gambling, and no swapping of stalls is allowed. Violation of the
given rules shall deem disqualification of the stallholder from applying for
the next three years, the guidelines further state.
During the
media Ugnayan last Wednesday, with Acting mayor Daniel Farinas present, Baguio
City Police Office Director Jesus Cambay issued the traffic advisory for the
general public as to re-routing, parking and no-parking, loading and no-loading
places and one-way roads.
The traffic
measures shall start at 5 AM, Nov. 1, until the activity is over.
Motorists
are thus informed that Naguilian road, from the junction of Bokawkan road up to
Dominican road; Dominican road from the junction of Naguilian road up to Queen
of Apostles road; San Luis road, from Naguilian road to San Luis/San Roque
junction; San Roque road; Sofia de Veyra st; first road Quezon Hill, from
junction of Naguilian road up to Ponce st. are strictly one-way roads.
As in the past years also, all private
vehicles, except trucks and buses, shall pass through Naguilian Rd. with
motorists coming from the Central Business District area to load or unload
passengers at the Baguio Cemetery gate. They shall turn at the 1stRoad.,
San Carlos Heights before proceeding to the designated parking areas at
Recoletos Seminary, Coyeesan Pay Parking area and Shangrila Village. Private
Vehicles intending to stay at the Quezon Hill Parking area will take the
alternate route from San Carlos Hts. to Quezon Hill. In going back to the CBD,
vehicles shall exit through Dominican Road towards Queen of Peace Road or Rock
Quarry Road to their destination.
Taxicabs
shall load or unload their passengers at the back of Police Station 1, in front
of the Recoletos Seminary and take the San Luis/San Roque Road as exit route,
right turn to Dominican Road towards Queen of Peace or Lourdes Road going back
to the Central Business District.
Irisan, San
Carlos Hts, NPC, and other Naguilian PUJ Association, in going towards Central
Business District area shall take Naguilian Road, turn right to Dominican Rd
going down to either Queen of Peace or Queen of Apostles Rd. to their
designated loading terminal at CBD. They shall take their usual route in going
back to their point of origin.
Passengers from the CBD going to the cemetery shall be unloaded along
the junction of 1st Rd. of San Carlos Heights.
San Luis, San Roque, Asin,
Nangalisan and other PUJs Association using Asin Rd in going to the central
business district shall take San Roque Rd, turn right to Dominican Rd, go down
Queen of Peace or Queen of Apostles Rd to their terminal. They take their usual
route in going back to point of origin. Passengers from CBD going to the
cemetery shall be unloaded at the back of Station 1, in front of Recolletos
Seminary.
Dominican
PUJs going to CBD shall take Queen of Peace or Queen of Apostles Rd to their
designated loading/unloading terminal and use their usual route going back to
their point of origin. Passengers shall be unloaded along the junction of
Naguilian/Dominican Intersection, before the arch.
Quezon Hill PUJs in going to the CBD may take Fairview Rd,
down to Ferguson Rd going up Sepic to Bokawkan Rd towards the CBD or may take 2nd
Rd. towards Naguilian Rd, turn left to Dominican Rd going down to Queen of
Peace or Queen of Apostles to the designated loading/ unloading terminal. They
shall take their usual route in going back to point of origin. Unloading of
passengers intending to go to the cemetery shall be nine (9) meters away from
the Naguilian Rd./2nd Rd. /Quezon Hill Junction.
Guisad, Fairview and other PUJs Association
taking Ferguson Rd, in going to the CBD
shall
take Sepic Rd. or Gaerlan Rd. to Bokawkan Rd. towards the designated loading
terminal. They shall use the same route in going back to point of origin.
Motorists coming from the direction of the
lowlands (Naguilian) are requested to take the
Circumferential
Road in going towards the CBD.
Trucks and buses shall be banned along
Quirino Highway from Sepic Street/Naguilian
Rd.
junction up to its junction of San Carlos Hts. They shall use Marcos Highway or
Lamtang, Longlong, Tam-awan road from 5:00 AM of November 1, up to 12:00
midnight.
During the same period, only water delivery,
ambulance and police vehicles are allowed
inside
the Baguio Cemetery for use in case of emergency.
Public Utility Vehicles not affected by the
temporary traffic re-routing scheme shall go
on with
their usual routes
There shall be no parking during the
same period Inside the Baguio Cemetery, Bokawkan Junction to Ferguson Junction,
Ferguson Junction to 2nd Road Quezon Hill, 2nd Road
Quezon Hill Junction to San Luis Junction, Sofia De Veyra St., Queen of
Apostles Road, from Station 1 to Entrance of Baguio Cemetery, and from the
entrance of Baguio Cemetery to San Carlos heights junction.
There should be no loading or
unloading at the cemetery entrance, but shall be allowed in front of the
Recoletos Seminary, just after the entrance of Baguio Memorial Cemetery left
side going down, and San Carlos Heights Junction.
Parking
areas are available inside the Shangrila Subdivision, inside the Recoletos
compound, the whole stretch of Ponce st. along Quezon Hill, the right side of 2nd
road San Carlos heights going down and the Pay Parking area inside the Cooyesan
