Vintage bombs found in Nueva Ecija, Cagayan


STA. ROSA, Nueva Ecija   – At least 20 World War II bombs and two 81mm mortar shells were found by a man digging a septic tank here in Barangay Mapalad June 2..

Senior Supt. Crisaldo Nieves, Nueva Ecija police provincial director, said the bombs were found by AngelitoLiwanag, who reported it to the Philippine Army in Fort Magsaysay, Palayan City.

Meanwhile, another vintage bomb was found by workers of a construction site in Cagayan Monday.


Senior Insp. Ruben Verbo, chief of Iguig town police, said the 70-kilo bomb is capable of blowing up a building if not handled properly. – Charlie Lagasca
