993 get dengue in P’sinan; 5 dead


LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — Sounding the alarm on the rising cases of dengue fever and deaths related to it, the Provincial Health Office here said last week it is time for the public to take precautionary measures against the mosquito-borne disease seriously.

Dr. Anna de Guzman, PHO head, said dengue has already affected the entire province with 993 cases and five deaths since January until July 15 of this year.

PHO records listed the five deaths in the towns of Sual, Manaoag, Sta. Maria, and San Fabian –where two pupils in Subol Elementary School have died this month.
