La Union surfing event eyeing 8th Pearl Award

SAN FERNADO CITY, La Union — The La Union Surfing Break (LUSB), which has gained worldwide attention, is in the running again for the 8th Pearl Awards’ “Best Tourism Event of the Philippines” in the Sports and Wellness Category.

Provincial information officer Adamor Dagang expressed excitement over the prospect of the event bagging the title of National Champion in the major tourism awards for a second year in a row.

“The participation of the hotel and restaurant owners, the media and others from the private sector has contributed much to winning last year,” said Dagang.

The Best Tourism Practices Awards of the country is organized by the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines in partnership with the Department of Tourism.

LUSB was pre-judged through a bid-book containing documentary and supporting evidence of the project, program activity with photos, newspaper articles and brochures.

It is now one of the finalists for the Pearl Awards.
