TRINIDAD, Benguet -- Adivay Festival activities are on in celebration of
Benguet’s 113th Founding Anniversary with an
agro-industrial tourism fair
showcasing the 13 towns of the
province’s best in agriculture, garden show and
“pride of place” artscape along
with series of skills competition from Nov. 18 to 24 at the Benguet Sports
Center in Wangal, this town.
The fair opens Nov. 18 and is also
the start of judging of best booth, garden show and tourism artscape and
an agri-photo contest.
Gov. Nestor Fongwan, the tourism
artscape or landscape depicting the respective landmarks of the 13 towns is a
new innovation.
On Nov. 19, competitions on organic
fertilizer preparation and flower arrangement will be held.
Provincial skills competitions among
tech-voc schools such as electrical installation and maintenance, bread and
pastry production, consumer electronics servicing, heavy equipment
operator-wheeloader, commercial cooking, bartending, auto-electricity, and
health care services were also scheduled on Nov. 20. ` ``
One of the major activities of
the fair will be the National Vegetable Congress to be participated in by
stakeholders in the agriculture sector on Nov. 21-23, 2013 at the Crown Legacy
Hotel in Baguio City.
Competitions on basket making were also
set for Nov. 21 and nutri-snack competitions on rice and rootcrop-based and
indigenous vegetable salad preparation and presentation on Nov. 22.
The agro-industrial tourism fair
culminates on Nov. 24 with awarding of
winners in various competitions .
