Ifugao cops return found bag with cash
LAGAWE, Ifugao -- Two rookie cops returned a
shoulder bag containing cash amounting to P14,546 and other valuable
documents and keys which they found while on patrol in this province’s capital
town.
The rookie cops -
Police Officers 1 Dan Mariano and Wilson M. Dimalnat - from the
Ifugao Public Safety Company were on foot patrol in front of a gasoline station
in Poblacion East when they chanced on the bag with the items.
The duo then turned
over the item to their commander, Supt. Brent Madjaco, to be inventoried
and to track the owner of the bag.
Found inside the bag
were P14, 546.00, a senior citizen I.D., two 2x2 ID pictures, a hospital
consultation card and a number of keys.
It was also found out
that the bag was owned by a Ms Felomena Pugong from Pawikan, Poblacion East,
Lagawe.
The Cordillera Police
Command said the action of the two rookie cops showed the kind of policemen and
service they give in the highlands.
Cordillera police
director Chief Supt. Benjamin Magalong said Cordillera police bagged this year the
best among 14 regions in the country in terms of the Integrated Transformation
Program (ITP), the roadmap of the country’s police force toward shedding its
old bad image.
In 2012, the
Cordillera Police placed last in the ITP list.
