Fishermen afloat on boat debris rescued at Phl Sea



SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union — Three fishermen were rescued alive by their fellow fishermen in the West Philippine Sea off the town of Agno, Pangasinan, Dec. 7, a belated report here said.

Police identified the rescued as Valentine Arabos, 35, the boat captain and resident of Dasol, Pangasinan; and Michael Borick Mijano, 33, and Rolen Guanzon, 27, both of Barangay Cato in Infanta, Pangasinan.

It was learned that the survivors were spotted holding on to floating debris of their boat, which had been wrecked by violent waves last Friday.

They were picked up by fellow fishermen, taken to shore, given food and medication and are now home with their families, police said.
