NFA to Ifugao farmers: Sell palay to gov’t

LAGAWE, Ifugao -- The National Food Authority (NFA) urged farmers in the province to sell their  palay to the government in   either  dry or newly- threshed state.

NFA-Ifugao officer in-charge Lolita V. Paz said  the grain agency has started procuring wet “sariwa play with price ranging from ₱13.48 to ₱15.66 per kilo.

“The drying facilities Farm Level Grains Complex (FLGC) Warehouse at Namillangan in Alfonso Lista town is open 24 hours for seven days a week to cater to the needs of the farmers,” Paz added.

The NFA she said may deploy a team to pick-up palay of farmers who could not afford or transport their products to the NFA buying station.

The price for clean and dry palay is ₱15.88 to ₱17.40 per kilogram inclusive of drying and delivery incentives.
