CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The classic
story of drug dealers concealing their operations behind high walls in posh
villages unfolds yet again with the arrest of two suspects who yielded P182
million worth of “shabu” at the millionaires’ resort-village known as Lakeshore
in Mexico, Pampanga.
Senior Supt. Oscar
Albayalde, Police Provincial Office director, who led the buy-bust operation,
said the recent arrest of Ding Wenkun, a Chinese, and his errand boy Roel L.
Cabag, originally from Cebu, was a major breakthrough in the campaign against
illegal drugs in Pampanga.
Albayalde said initial
amount of shabu purchased by the raiding team’s poseur buyer was P300,000 and
when Cabag emerged from Wenkun’s house for the trade, operatives were signalled
to come in.
Upon entering the
Wenkun’s house on Narra Street, Woodbrige Subdivision inside the sprawling
Lakeshore property, a luggage containing approximately 16.5 kilos of shabu and
a box filled with about 20 kilos more were found.
The big haul valued at
around P182 million prompted Chief Supt. Raul Petrasanta, Police Regional
Office 3 director, to rush to the area and see the big volume of shabu for
himself.
“This is possibly a
well-organized syndicate since the confiscated shabu is already a finished
product,” Albayalde said.
