Budget for 14 Cordillera tourism sites approved


BAGUIO CITY -- Fourteen tourist destinations in different towns and provinces in Cordillera will benefit from the bottom-up budget (BUB) of the Department of Tourism Cordillera this year.

“The region has a lot of tourism destination potential that just needs to be improved to encourage tourists to visit the areas,” Purificacion Molintas, regional director of the DOTC-Cordillera said.

The Bani Hot Springs in Boliney, Abra, where P1.8 million has been allocated and the Panawidan (Sacpal) Falls in Daguioman, in the same province, which got P2 million are the first in the list to receive the budget.

Also approved was the budget for the improvement of access roads in Sagada, Mountain Province to make the Bomod-ok Falls and Pongas Falls more accessible.


A budget for tourism projects has also been poured into Hungduan and Mayoyao in Ifugao; Balbalan and Tanudan in Kalinga; Buguias, Kabayan and Kibungan in Benguet; and the town of Pudtol in Apayao.
