Dad provoking trouble nabbed by his two sons

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union -- For constantly provoking trouble inside his house, a father armed with high powered gun was arrested Monday by his own two sons in barangay Baraoas, this city.

 Supt. Julius C. Suriben, police chief here, reported to Senior  Supt. Ramon Rafael, La Union police director, that Danilo Mendoza, 60, a farmer, was subdued by his two young sons- Joemar and John-  after threatening his family with his gun, a Cal. 45 loaded with 13 bullets. During the scuffle, Col. Suriben said, the father was not able to fire his gun and no match with his young two sons.

According to Suriben , the suspect was later turned over by his two sons to  responding policemen from Mobile Unit Team 2 under Insp. Judy Calica.

Charges were being prepared for filing while the suspect was lodged in jail.

 For the record, Suriben said, eight  firearms have been already seized by the city police since January due to campaign against loose guns by  police here.


Mayor Pablo C Ortega and Rep. Francisco "Pacoy" Ortega cited city police headed by Suriben and La Union police headed  by Rafael for making the city and the province safe places.
