DepEd-Kalinga starts ‘text brigade’

By Larry Lopez

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Kalinga Schools Division  recently launched  “text brigade” using mobile  phones so it could take  immediate action on issues and concerns in schools,

Schools Division superintendent Caroline Verano said the Division now considers “text reports” from the school level on matters that call immediate attention or action  of the office

It is the mandate of the Division Office to immediately address needs and concerns of the various schools and therefore we allow the use of the “text” technology in bringing the issue to our office, Verano explained.

Concerns could be sent through the Office of Assistant Superintendent to  mobile phone number 0919-8954976.

She also urged the community to help monitor schools and urged the public to send “text reports” to the division.

In a related development, Verano said is entertaining requests by teachers deployed in far areas to be recalled  for  home-based assignments.

However, requests for recall should be submitted before the opening of classes not in the middle of the school year so as not to interrupt classes.

These are part of the steps the division is taking to scale-up quality of education in the province ,Verano said  as she  called on all teachers and staff under the division to share the task.
