TABUK CITY, Kalinga - - The Technical
Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is offering Trainers
Methodology Course for technical-vocational teachers from accredited schools
this month.
John Adawey,
provincial TESDA director, said the three-week training covers six competencies to upgrade knowledge and skills of teachers handling
tech-voc courses.
Teachers must possess National
Certificate level 2 eligibility or NC II to qualify for this training program.
“Normally, the
training fee is P9,000.00 but is given free to teachers in TESDA-registered
tech-voc institutes,” he said.
He said trainees must
pay a 50% down payment of the training fee which is refundable after completion
of the course.
“This represents a
commitment fee but will be reimbursed after graduation,” he said.
Enrollees this June
will comprise second batch of trainees which is a special program of TESDA to make
tech-voc institutions competitive and in preparation for the ASEAN integration
in 2015 .
According to Adawey,
second priority for the training are public school teachers teaching tech-voc
courses particularly those in charge of senior high schools under DepEd’s K-12
program. Third priority are walk-in enrollees who are NC II
holders.
