76 houses inTanudan, Kalinga energized with help of locals

TANUDAN, Kalinga -- Seventy six  households, two schools, the barangay hall, a day care center, and a chapel in barangay Poblacion this municipality were recently energized by main power grid under the “Handog Liwanag ni P-Noy sa ating Lahat” program.

The turnover and official power switch-on was recently held with  CliffordAlunday, member service chief of the Kalinga-Apayao Electric Cooperative (KAELCO), Mayor Johnwell Tiggangay, Vice Mayor Pedro Codiam,  and sangguniangbayan members.

Fund was provided by the National Electrification Administration through barangay and sitio electrification program with counterpart from the municipal government.

The beneficiary barangay provided community counterpart through free labor and hauling of  electric posts.

Alunday promised  to people of Tanudan KAELCO will continue to bring power to remaining barangays of Lubo, Gaang and Daclan this year including the municipal government buildings in Banagao  as  their contribution in achieving the national target of connecting all barangays in the country by 2016.

Tiggangay said the local government unit is ready to provide counterpart when necessary.
