Red tide ban in two P’sinan towns lifted

DAGUPAN CITY – Shellfish collected in the coastal towns of Anda and Bolinao have been declared free from algae that produce the red tide toxin.

In an advisory issued last week, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources said gathering, transporting and marketing of shellfish harvested from these towns are safe for human consumption.

The agency assured the public that it will continue to monitor algal blooms in the area.
