BAGUIO
CITY –Two alleged members of an illegal drugs gang were arrested after engaging
cops in a shootout at Amistad Road here, Camp 7 along Kennon Road August 6 at
about 2:30 a.m.
Patrolling cops led by Senior Insp. Norbert Holman were reportedly conducting surveillance operation on suspected drug personalities when they chanced upon a white Honda CRV driven by a certain Christian “Sadiit” Alvar.
A police report said when cops were about to check the said vehicle, gunfire ensued that resulted to the hitting of the car driven by Alvar.
A police SWAT team responded and after a brief chase, two cohorts of Alvar namely James Santos Gomez and Voni Torres Yuviencco, 36 were arrested. Both were reportedly without permanent city address. Alvar evaded arrest and is still being hunted.
Two vehicles, a Mitsubishi L200 cab owned by Hal Semour Holman Sotero and a Mitsubishi Mirage Hatchback owned Karldon Eustaquio and Judith Eustaquio which were parked unattended were hit by stray bullets.
The two arrested suspects are now detained at Police Station 8.
