‘4Ps beneficiaries to lose benefits if they pawn ATMs’

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union — The provincial Department of Social Welfare and Development here warned PantawidPamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries they will lose their benefits if they are found to pawn their Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards in exchange for cash advances. Marcelo Nicomedes J. Castillo, DSWD regional director, said pawning of their ATM cards is a violation that will result in the suspension of their financial assistance. Beneficiaries receive a P1,400 monthly stipend through their ATM accounts with Land Bank of the Philippines. -- Erwin G. Beleo
