KAPANGAN, Benguet -- A village chairman here
reportedly hanged himself at his home on Sunday, police said on Tuesday.
The body of
Dancy Agdawi, 40, a resident of Barangay Pongayan, was discovered by his cousin
Liza Apasen, said Supt. Cherry Fajardo, Cordillera police spokesperson.
A report to
Kapangan police chief Senior Insp. Anderson Mauricio said Agdawi, who had a
drinking spree at the house of Apasen, left at 11:30 a.m.
When Agdawi
did not return and calls to his mobile phone were unanswered, his relatives
went to his house, where he was found dead with a nylon cord looped around his
neck.
Police have
ruled out foul play.
