SAGADA,
Mountain Province -- A completed water project for Barangay Patay Poblacion is
ready for inspection and blessing to be attended by the project donor
and beneficiaries here.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints and its program A Single Drop for Safe Water provided
materials for project and conducted water community management
and technical trainings to volunteers to manage it.
Municipal and barangay government units gave some
amount as payment of labor. Residents contributed free labor laying out
the pipes while others provided free lunch and snacks,.
The source of the water comes from
a spring located in a 2.3 hectare forest land purchased
by the barangay through the help of
Mayor Eduardo Latawan Jr.
Seven tapstands were
placed in strategic areas in the barangay including those at the
Bomabanga elementary and high school for the Level 2 waterworks.
The Barangay Patay Rural Waterworks and
Sanitation Association aims for Level 3 for
water pipes to reach homes of household members.
