dead under bed
BAGUIO CITY – A construction worker identified as Lolito Payangdo Lumtot,
41, single, and construction worker was discovered dead in his home at Lower
Q.M. here around 8 p.m. Aug. 12 by
Charlie Diego Langkayas, 22, nephew of the deceased.
Police said Langkayas went to visit his uncle and upon arrival at
the room located on the 2nd floor of the building, he noticed that the
door of the room was slightly opened. When he entered, he noticed a
protruding foot under the bed. He saw and found out that it was his uncle lying
underneath the bed without movement and no longer breathing.
The family of the deceased signed a waiver of consent refusing the
conduct of autopsy on the body of the deceased.
Amy commander stabbed by
Cafgu member
CONNER, Apayao – An army detachment commander here was stabbed by a
paramilitary member here August 12.
A police report said around 4:30 p.m. Aug., they received text message
from Sgt. Hermogenes Yanba Melandres Jr., detachment commander of 77th IB,
5th ID based here informing them he was stabbed in Barangay Calafug.
He identified his assailant as Marlon GungobGundan, 39, Cafgu member.
Investigation disclosed at about 3:30 p.m. that day, the suspect
had a drinking session with his companions at the patrol base and when he was
drunk, he started provoking. The victim tried to stop the suspect but this
resulted to heated argument wherein the suspect suddenly stabbed the victim on
his left thigh.
Police arrested the suspect while the victim was brought to Conner
District Hospital, Conner, Apayao.
7 hurt in Benguet mishap
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Seven persons were injured when a van rolled over
in Atok town in this province Monday morning.
The victims were rushed to the Benguet General Hospital for treatment.
They were identified as Jessica Catalino, 17; Marvilyn Catalino, 25; Felizardo
Ah-ul, 23; Teresito Estino; Gloria Ferrer, 53; Pearly Joy Ferrer, 17, and
Beverly Marian, 31, all of Baguio City.
Reports said the victims were in a Mitsubishi Delica van driven by
Baltazar Catalion when they figured in an accident along the Halsema Highway in
Barangay Cattubo.
Sagada driver falls down
Banaue ravine
BANAUE, Ifugao -- A Tamaraw FX vehicle driven by a certain Cambel SabanganTorio
of Aguid, Sagada, Mt. Province, accidentally fell down a 20-meter deep ravine
while traversing sharp curved road here in SitioChangngitan, Viewpoint Aug. 11.
The driver was unharmed while the vehicle incurred damages.
Responding Banaue and government workers with relatives of the driver
extracted car from the crash site.
Altercation leads to
hacking
BUGUIAS, Benguet – A hacking incident transpired about 7 p.m.
Aug. 11 here in Wangawangan, Baculongan Norte with the victim identified
as Teddy Cabinta while the suspect was named Tony “Taltalmed” Ling-ey of
Mayaoyao, Ifugao.
Investigation disclosed that an altercation ensued between the victim
and the suspect.
Ling-ey hacked Cabinta on his back, but the latter retaliated and mauled
Lingey. Cabinta’s wife sought help from their neighbors and rushed them both to
the Lutheran Hospital, in Abatan, Buguias in Benguet for medical treatment.
Jobless man stabbed after tiff in Session

BAGIJIO CITY – A jobless man was stabbed Tuesday at about 12 midnight at
M. Roxas Bridge, Lower Brookside here.
Police said Chris Marion Butay Busaing, 29 of Woodsgate, Camp 7, was
allegedly stabbed by John Darrel Villanueva of Leonila Hill.
Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim and the
suspect had a heated argument at Singles Bar, along Session Road.
The victim and his girlfriend sought police assistance and were escorted
to the boarding house of the victim’s girlfriend at Lower Brookside, Baguio
City. However, the suspect followed them and a fight ensued between the victim
and the suspect until the victim was stabbed by the suspect.
As a result, the victim suffered two stab wounds, one on the left side
of his neck and another on his left chest. The suspect fled immediately after
the incident, while the victim was rushed to SLU hospital for medical
treatment.
The victim said he will be filing a complaint against the suspect after
he is well.
3 Itogon, Benguet schools
ransacked
ITOGON, Benguet – Three schools in this mining town were ransacked by
still unidentified thieves last week.
Thieves struck around 4:40 to 6:30 a.m. Aug. 11, at Tuding Elementary
School here, basing from complaint of Elena Lenneng Tanas, school
principal. The incident was reported to Itogon police about
6:40 a.m. that day by a certain Diwas, an employee of same school.
Investigation disclosed unidentified robbers gained entry by destroying
the door padlock of the school clinic going to the principal’s office where
they stole a flat Dell computer with CPU worth P13,000 and P4,000.00 collection
at the school canteen.
Still in Itogon, at about 5:30 p.m. of August 10 to 6 a.m. of Aug.
11, the Midas Elementary School in Barangay Ucab was ransacked particularly the
principal’s office.
Investigation disclosed robbers gained entry by forcibly destroying the
padlock of the principal’s office door. Once inside, the suspects CPU worth
P17, 000.
Accordingly, at about 5:30 p.m. of Aug. 10, one of the teachers put
a padlock at the principal’s door.
The following day, at about 6 a.m. Risalyn L. Padawi, utility
worker noticed that the padlock was forcibly unlocked and on the ground.
Meanwhile, between 10 p.m. of Aug. 10, to 8:40 a.m. of Aug. 11,
unidentified thieves robbed the Philippine Bell International School at
SitioIlod, Poblacion also in Itogon.
The complainants were identified as Marissa Bawayan Dagdagui, 38, of
Mankayan, Benguet and Marie Creil Tugan Beniasan, 25, of Buguias, Benguet, both
stay-in teachers at said school.
Investigation disclosed the suspects allegedly used picklock to unlock
the door of the library where they took three computer sets.
A computer set was also taken from the quarters of Dagdagui. Stolen
items were valued at P96,000.
Drug suspect wounded in
shootout with cops
BAGUIO CITY – A suspected drug trafficker was wounded after he and his
companions engaged police officers in a shootout in this city Monday.
Suspect Norman Nares was taken to the Baguio General Hospital and
Medical Center for treatment, while his companions identified as Akiya Velasco
and Charlie Andawi were brought to the crime laboratory for drug tests.
The suspects resisted when agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement
Agency and members of the city police arrested them during a sting, according
to Supt. Cherry Fajardo, spokesperson for the Cordillera police.
Seized from the suspects were a plastic sachet said to contain shabu
worth P10,000, drug paraphernalia, two motorcycles and a handgun.
3 chicken dung dealers
caught in police drug sting operation
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Three chicken dung retailers were arrested here
Monday around 2 p.m. in a house allegedly with illegal drugs.
Senior Insp. Melenium B. Bantas led cops in the sting operation at
SitioTili, Barangay Shilan.
Arrested were Gamlosen Sarlipan Dayag-o, 31, Sadsadan, Bauko, Mt. Province; Mael Pagada-an
Mateo, 27 and Ronald Curpos “Onad”
Wadilia, 25 of Bangar, La Union. All were reportedly residents of the house.
Police confiscated buy-bust money worth and confiscated the following
items: sachets containing shabu and residue, drug paraphernalia and three cell phones.
The confiscated items were marked inside the room of Curpos (Onad) in
the presence of barangay kagawad of Shilan, with a representative from Bombo
Radio. The arrested suspects were brought to La Trinidad police station where
charges were readied against them.

homicide.

Cops found no fingerprints inside the vehicle.

John Hay owned by Manila visitors broken into
BAGUIO CITY – Thieves destroyed the glass window of a gray Montero SUV
parked at Ordonio drive inside Camp John Hay here and took away personal
belongings of two persons from Manila.
Police identified complainants as Manuel Angelo Castro Monzon, 33, MayBank employee, of SSS Village, Makati City
and Paula Marianne Regina Santos, 29, Maynilad Employee, and resident of Golf Hills Terraces, Manotok
Drive, Old Balar, Quezon City.
Lost items included a Tory Burch bag containing Santos’s wallet,
Maynilad Company ID, driver’s license, Metro Bank card, City Bank Card,
discount card and cash money of P1,000.00.
The victims added some of their important belongings inside the vehicle
were intact except the above missing items.

BAGUIO CITY – A certain Angel Mariquita Molina, 32, told police thieves cut
a chicken-wire fence in their compound, passed through it then detached a piece
of glass from the victim’s bedroom window, inserted a long plastic tube pole
with a hook attached on its end and used it to get her Neo laptop worth
P20,000.
Police said the incident happened daytime of August 9 at San Luis
Village.
3 females, minor caught on
CCTV stealing clothes
LAGAWE, Ifugao – Three females and male minor as reviewed from CCTV
footage stole two red and white plastic bags from a store along the National
roadside at Poblacion East here around 3:55 a.m. on Aug. 9.
One of the plastic bags contained 50 pieces blouses while the other
plastic bag contained another 50 pieces T-shirt.
Said stolen items allegedly cost P16,000.

the theft around 10:50 a.m. of August 8.
Man stabbed inside Lagawe

LAGAWE, Ifugao – Police are still searching for a man who allegedly
stabbed a victim who was drinking with his companions at a bar here, Aug. 8.
Police said the incident happened at about 8:25 p.m. at Tropicana
restaurant and videoke bar along JP Rizal Avenue, Poblacion East.
The victim was identified as Lawrence C. Dulnuan, 45, farmer and
resident of PoblacionHingyon town.
Investigation disclosed the victim together with some companions
were drinking when two unidentified customers provoked trouble with other
customers but not with the victim.
Moments later, Dulnuan reportedly stood up to get out for a while but
the suspect met him and stabbed him.
The victim asked for help while blood was dripping from his stomach and
the unidentified suspect disappeared.
The victim was rushed by his companion at the Ifugao General Hospital
and immediately transferred to the Veterans Regional Hospital in Bayombong
Nueva Vizcaya for proper medication.
The victim sustained a stab wound on the right side of his abdomen.
House yields machine pistols, bullets
LANGIDEN, Abra – Police searched the house of a certain Ronald Salvador
in Barangay Quillat here Aug 6 following search warrants issued by Judge Renato
Pinlac, regional trial court, San Carlos City, Pangasinan.
Seized were: two machine pistols, long magazine for Cal 5.56mm and several
bullets.
Salvador was not around during the search conducted with the
presence of barangay kagawads and occupants of the house. Confiscated
items were brought to Abra provincial police office while cases for illegal
firearms were prepared against the suspect.

Police arrested Arlene AbanEsyaben, 35, married, of Bangao, Buguias,
Benguet, and resident of Balili, La Trinidad also in the province.
Esyaben was arrested Aug. 5 at about 9:45 a.m. along Legarda St. by La Trinidad police.
Cecilia Corazon S. Dulay-Archog, presiding judge, of RTC Branch 6,
Baguio City issued warrant for her arrest with no bail recommended.
But Esyaben was immediately released after showing an order that her
warrant was recalled by the court.

BUGUIAS, Benguet – A certain Debra Wangalen Linmayog, 29, businesswoman
of Balawa, Tadian, Mt. Province was arrested
August 5 here at Bekes, Buyacaoan following arrest warrant issued
against her with no bail recommended.
Agapito K Laoagan Jr., presiding judge, RTC Branch 64, Abatan, Buguias,
issued her arrest warrant for violation of Republic 9208 and two counts for
violation of RA 7610 docketed with
recommended bail of P80,000.00 for each case.
The arrested person was confined at Abatan Emergency Hospital while
documents were prepared prior her turnover to the court.

PINUKPUK, Kalinga – Police arrested here a certain Andres “Pakgang”
Wangwang, 48, farmer, and resident of Sitio Banat, Magsilay, Pasil, Aug. 5 for
attempted rape.
Marcelino K. Wacas, presiding judge, RTC Branch 25, 2nd Judicial
Region, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga issued warrant for Wangwang’s arrest with
bail set at P120,000.
The arrested person was brought to Kalinga provincial police
office.
Ex-OFW found dead inside
apartment unit
BAGUIO CITY – A single ex-overseas foreign worker was found dead inside
at Upper San Vicente Aug. 5 at about 5:30 p.m. at her apartment unit
Police said Honorina Emmang Domigit, 42, was found lifeless by her brother
identified as Keanu EmmangDomingit, 19, resident of Aurora Hill here.
Investigation disclosed Keanu went to check the victim at her unit
because she failed to respond to phone calls and text messages.
Keanu Domingit knocked at the door of the victim’s unit but there was no
response and he observed the TV was on.
He sought assistance from the owner of the house and borrowed the
duplicate key to open the door. However, when they were trying to open the door
using the duplicate key, it was double locked inside that prompted them to
climb the terrace of the unit and entered inside using the back door which was
half open.
Once inside, he found the lifeless body of the victim lying face down on
the floor and immediately called police to investigate. There were no signs of
forced entry at the victim’s unit and they learned that the victim was
suffering from psoriasis.
Responding personnel of Police Station 8 together with SOCO team
led by Supt. Armando Leal found out the cadaver was dead for about 8 to 12
hours. Case is under further investigation while the cadaver was brought to
Bahay Damayan Funeral Parlor for autopsy.

BAGUIO CITY – Thieves broke into a milk shop here around 6 p.m. Aug. 6
and carted away with items with a total worth of P62,000.
These included: Acer laptop worth P35,000; Ipod valued at P20,000,
Globe router worth P2,000, pair of Nike shoes worth P4,000 and two heavy
duty plywood cutters each worth around P2,000.
Police said a certain Denardine Dizon Cayabyab, 31, student, and resident of
La Trinidad, Benguet complained about the theft on the milk house located
at Bonifacio St. Holy Ghost Proper.

3 minors nabbed for
theft
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Three male minors were arrested here around 2
p.m. on Aug. 9 for trying to steal items
at a store along Balangbang, Puguis here owned by DomingaBagsanBao-in, 36.
Patrolling cops confiscated from the minors’ possession

in different denominations.
The minors are residents of Baguio City. Two of them were released to
their parents while the other one is under the custody of Welfare Office of La
Trinidad.
Thieves steal P10k from
house
LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- At about 11 a.m. of Aug. 9, still unidentified robbers forcibly
entered the house of a certain Bering AlinsoTedio, 43, of Itogon, Benguet took
his wallet and wallet containing cash of more than P5,000 and Ph5,000
worth of coins.
Police said the incident happened at Barangay Western Buyagan with
thieves gaining entry by forcibly destroying the padlock of the door.
