6 dead in North Luzon vehicular accidents

TUGUEGARAO CITY – Six persons died while six others were injured in separate vehicular accidents in Ilocos Sur, Cagayan and Apayao on Tuesday.

Rolando Mazon Jr. and his companions, Arnel Natividad and Melvester Natividad, died at the scene after their motorcycle collided with another motorcycle driven by Gilbert Lozano in Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur.

Mazon’s motorcycle ended up in the path of a bus, which ran over the motorcycle, according to provincial police spokesman Chief Insp. Greg Guerrero. The bus was driven by Joel de los Santos.

Lozano and his companion, Joemar Javillonar, were taken to the Sta. Lucia District Hospital, where they were listed in critical condition.

De los Santos surrendered to the police after the accident.

In Cagayan, septuagenarian Emilia Samoy and her relative James Andres, 43, died when a tractor hit their house in Barangay Catayauan, Lal-lo town.
