President Aquino has signed into law eight
Congress-approved bills converting the extension offices of the Land
Transportation Office (LTO) into regular district offices.
The laws will expand
services and transactions such as vehicle registration and driver’s license application
and renewal.
The cities and
municipalities that will have regular LTO district offices are Tigaoan in
Camarines Sur, Malita in Davao Occidental, Carmona in Cavite, Cabadbaran City
in Agusan del Norte, Irosin in Sorsogon, Agoo in La Union, Bayawan City in
Negros Oriental and Nabunturan in Compostela Valley.
The funds for the
operations of the offices will be included in the annual General Appropriations
Act.
