TEN
PERSONS died in road accidents in Ifugao, Ilocos Norte and Bataan, Isabela and
Benguet last week.
In
Lamut, Ifugao, Jonathan Papiabor, 24, and Bernard Samaupuan, 33, died when
their delivery truck crashed when the brake malfunctioned down the road
in Sitio Bangbangaw in Barangay Halog at around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday
In Dingras, Ilocos Norte, Arian Joseph
Honorio died when his motorcycle crashed into a Toyota Innova along the highway
in Barangay Guerrero on Wednesday.
Rolando Raper, 45, died when his
motorcycle rammed into a Toyota Hi-ace van in Barangay San Antonio in Narvacan,
Ilocos Sur.
The drivers of the Toyota Innova and the
van were arrested.
Three of the victims were in a tricycle
that collided with a cargo truck along the highway in Orion, Bataan on Tuesday
night.
Senior Supt. Benjamin Silo, Bataan
police officer-in-charge, identified the fatalities as Christopher Mateo, his
partner Maricar Toyco and their three-year-old daughter.
The driver of the truck, Leo Naguita, is
being held at the police station.
Meanwhile, three people died in separate
road accidents in Isabela and Benguet night of June 29.
Elpidio Corpuz was driving his
motorcycle along the highway in Barangay Calaocan in Cabatuan town when a
speeding Toyota Hilux (MBI-562) hit him, said Senior Insp. Noriel Lacangan,
Cabatuan police chief.
Corpuz
was pronounced dead on arrival at the Cabatuan Family Clinic.
Responding
policemen arrested the driver of the sport utility vehicle identified as
Virgilio Pangan.
In Naguilian, Isabela, June
Castueras, 44, died when he crashed his motorcycle down the road in Barangay
San Manuel,
Julius Bugnay, 24, was killed while his
companion Lando Magno, 32, was seriously injured when their owner-type jeep
plunged into a 60-meter ravine in Sitio Lab-ang, Barangay Poblacion in Tuba,
