Charges filed vs 60-year-old man for raping minor

KIANGAN, Ifugao – Charges were filed Tuesday against a 60-year-old man for allegedly raping a minor here.

The mother of the victim told police her daughter was allegedly raped by Benito Tungawon Sr. farmer. A police report said on Feb. 23, the victim went home after their classes in the afternoon, and her sister told her to ask for a match at the house of the suspect for them to cook food. The victim obeyed and went to the house of the suspect asking for a match. He told her to get the match at the dirty kitchen.

 When she was about to go out, Tunagwon reportedly grabbed her right hand and put on her back as while holding her left hand then covered her mouth. The victim resisted and dragged her to their sleeping room and sexually abused her. After satisfying his lust, he warned her not to tell to anybody what happened or else he will do it to her sister what he did to her. The suspect then gave P150 to the victim and let her go. The victim was subjected to medical examination while the suspect is at large.
