BAGUIO CITY – Cordillera Interior regional
director Marlo L. Iringan awarded a total of P 86,966,000.00 for 19 development
projects in the region during the Unity Gong Relay as part of Cordillera Month
Celebration last July, and an addition of P 22 million for three other projects
last month.
Following the route of
the gong relay, Baguio City officials received the P 5 million Performance
Challenge Fund (PCF) during the kick-off last July 9.
The fund is the city
government’s incentive for passing the 2015 Seal of Good Local Governance and
is programmed for the construction of transportation terminal at the City Camp
Area.
Ifugao received a
total of P 16,340,000.00 on July 10 -- P 2 million for construction of Banao water system in Banaue
under the 2015 Sagana at Ligtas naTubig para sa Lahat (SALINTUBIG); P 5.6
million, the first tranche of P 7M, for
construction of Urban Water Supply Phase2 in Kiangan, Ifugao; P 8.24 M,
also the first tranche of P 10.3 M earmarked for the expansion / improvement of
water system of seven barangays in Alfonso Lista; and P 500,000.00 for the
construction of Dayandi-Tinangaan water supply in Hungduan.
All the three latter
water system projects are funded under the DILG - Bottom-up Budgeting.
Balbalan, Kalinga received
on July 11 the first tranche amounting to P 960,000.00 of the P 1.2 M for the
construction of flood control, also under the DILG- BuB.
Apayao received P
26.696 M representing first tranche of the P 33.370 M for three projects. These are BuB provision of potable water
supply in Sta. Marcela (P 2.696) and construction of Level I/II water supply in
two barangays in Luna, Apayao (P 4.8 M); and the first tranche of the P 24 M
opening of Eva-Cadaclan Road worth P 19.2 M from the Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan
(PAMANA).
A total of P 25.88 M
was released for five projects in Abra last July 12. One is the construction of
Tamac Level II water system in Villaviciosa under the SALINTUBIG worth P 2
M. Residents of Tamac Proper were evacuated
last year due to progressive landslide or slumping in their locality. DILG-CAR requested this project purposely to
provide potable water to 175 household evacuees in their relocation site. Another P 1M will be released for the Phase
II of the same project, also under SALINTUBIG, once program of work for the
initial release of P 2 M will be completed.
The other projects are
the construction Level II water system in Ba-i, Lagayan (P 8.8 M, first tranche
of P 11 M); provision of potable water system in Dolores (P 4.2 M, first
tranche of P 5.25); and construction of hand pump driven deep well in
Lagangilang (P 280,000.00, second tranche of P 1.4 M).
The second tranche
worth P 10.6 M of the P 53 M total project cost for the road opening from Tubo,
Abra to Besao, Mt. Province under the PAMANA was also released.
Second tranche of
project costs will only be disbursed once requirements are met to include
liquidation of first tranche and physical accomplishment, among others.
Memorandum of
Agreements for similar projects were signed between DILG-CAR represented by RD
Marlo L. Iringan and the municipalities of Tineg and Pidigan represented by
their respective local chief executives.
