MORE suspected illegal drugs users and
pushers were killed in northern and Central Luzon last week.
Johana Sablay, 23,
was driving her motorcycle when she was gunned down by unidentified men in
Barangay Pug-os, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur on Wednesday.
Sablay, a resident of
Barangay Jordan in Sinait town, was on the drug watchlist and surrendered
recently, said Chief Insp. Greg Guerrero, Ilocos Sur police spokesman.
La Union fatalities
In La Union, bouncer
Angeles Bautista, 35, was shot dead by unidentified men in front of Solar Bar
along Gov. Joaquin Ortega Avenue in Barangay Madayegdeg in San Fernando City
before dawn Thursday.
Witnesses said the
assailants were wearing helmets and black jackets.
Police said the
fatality surrendered under Oplan Tokhang recently.
Also in La Union,
Arjay Isla, 29, another drug surrenderee, was gunned down while standing in
front of the barangay hall in Central West in Bauang town on Wednesday.
Melanie Carbonell,
31, who surrendered under Oplan Tokhang recently, was shot dead by unidentified
men in Barangay Santiago in Caba, La Union.
Jeofrey Domingo, 11,
was hit by stray bullets and remains confined at the Ilocos Training and
Regional Medical Center.
Chief Insp. Silverio
Ordinado Jr., La Union police information officer, said Carbonell was declared
dead on arrival at the Caba Medicare Hospital.
Meanwhile, Ordinado
said the La Union police recovered 11.5 kilos of marijuana bricks with an
estimated value of P632,500 in Sitio Bay-o, Barangay Sasaba in Santol town last
week.
Ordinado said an
improvised molding machine, a hydraulic jack and a weighing scale were seized
by personnel of the La Union police, Provincial Public Safety Company and the
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
P80.8-M marijuana torched in Kalinga
Meanwhile, operatives
of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency burned P80.8 million worth of
marijuana plants on Mt. Chalanap in Barangay Loccong, Tinglayan, Kalinga.
Senior Insp. Nestor
Lopez, Tinglayan police chief, said the destroyed items consisted of 385,500
fully grown plants and 150 kilos of dried leaves, which were seized during a
raid on a 30-hectare plantation.
Ecija shabu chemicals
On Tuesday,
authorities recovered at least 15 bottles of chemicals used to manufacture
shabu along the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union-Expressway (TPLEX) in Cuyapo, Nueva
Ecija.
Chief Superintendent
Aaron Aquino, Central Luzon police director, said TPLEX personnel turned over
the chemicals to the Cuyapo police.
Last month,
several gallons of shabu chemicals were abandoned along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac
Expressway in Barangay Santiago, Concepcion, Tarlac. SCTEX personnel found the
materials in a grassy area.
Dagupan City
Three men on the drug
watchlist of the police in Manaoag, Sta. Barbara and Dagupan City were gunned
down by unidentified men on Monday.
The fatalities were
identified as jeepney driver Allan Natividad, 32; Noel Doria, 34, and Gerardo
Edades, 43.
Pangasinan
In Pangasinan, agents
of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested two Nigerians for allegedly
conducting a drug session in Dagupan City.
Emmanuel Divine
Ugochukwu, 29, and Stephen Samuel Anoruo, 20, were allegedly caught sniffing
shabu in their apartment in Barangay Pogo Grande.
Bulacan
Orlando
Cabrera and Ronaldo Cruz, 45, alias Onay, were killed in San Jose del
Monte City and Barangay San Juan in Hagonoy, Bulacan, respectively, on
Wednesday.
The suspects drew
their guns when they sensed they had sold shabu to undercover agents, said
Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat, Bulacan police acting director.
In Angat town, the
body of an unidentified man, believed to be a victim of summary execution, was
found along the Angat-Pandi Road in Barangay Encanto Thursday morning.
The body bore a
placard identifying him as a drug pusher.
Constantino Lalos,
alias Jobert, was killed in a reported shootout with police in Barangay Minuyan
in Norzagaray town Wednesday.
Caramat said the
fatality yielded four sachets of shabu and a .38-caliber revolver.
Caramat said Lalos
was on the barangay drug watchlist and was an alleged carjacker.
Isabela
In Isabela, Christian
Martinez, alias Rapper, was killed in a reported shootout with police during a
sting in Barangay San Fermin, Cauayan City.
Supt. Arnel Quilang,
Cauayan City police chief, said Martinez drew his caliber .45 pistol when he
