Village chief shot dead in Pangasinan

STA. BARBARA, Pangasinan – A barangay captain of this town was gunned down on night of Sept. 2.
Romeo Montemayor, 48, of Barangay Payas, had just arrived at his home when unidentified men entered and opened fire. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mapandan Community Hospital.
Chief Inspector Rex Infante, Sta. Barbara police officer-in-charge, said Montemayor had been the subject of numerous complaints from residents for alleged grave threat.  
An investigation into the killing is underway.
