RIZAL,
Nueva Ecija -- Police recovered the body of a 40-year-old treasure hunter who
was reported missing during a landslide in this town last week.
The body of Frederick Sombillo was recovered
night of April 13, three days after the accident that occurred in Barangay
Villa Paraiso, according to provincial police director Senior Supt. Antonio
Yarra.
Sombillo,
along with Pedro Tapang, 60,went to the site to supposedly search for hidden
treasures.
In November, Sombillo was allowed by property
owner Ismael Braganza to conduct treasure hunting at the site.
Sombillo’s team started digging on Feb. 28.
On Monday night, Sombillo and Tapang entered
the site, but a landslide occurred.
Tapang
was rescued four hours after the accident.
