BAGUIO
CITY -- The Philippine Military Academy
said 1,475 out of the 15,502 examinees passed the recent PMA entrance
examination.
The examination was conducted in 40 testing centers nationwide last August 20,
2017.
The
PMA entrance exam is the first stage in the selection process for cadetship in
the premier leadership training school in the country.
It measures the
mental ability of applicants in the areas of math (Algebra and Geometry),
English (Grammar, Composition, and Reading and Comprehension) and Abstract
Reasoning (Verbal and Numerical Reasoning and Pattern Analysis).
PMAEEpassers will
continue to the next phase of the selection process to become a cadet. They
will undergo the Complete Physical Examination (CPE) at the Armed Forces of the
Philippines Health Service Command (AFPHSC) in V. Luna Road, Quezon City to
test their medical, physical, and psychological potentials.
They will be notified
through postal and electronic mail of their schedule and the things to prepare
for the CPE at the AFPHSC.
The successful
applicants will compose the PMA Class 2022 who will be officially received in
the PMA in an oath-taking ceremony and reception rites on April 1, 2018.
PMA Cadets enjoys full
government scholarship. They do not have to pay a single centavo during the
entire years of training in the academy where they will earn a Bachelor of
Science Degree.
They are also
commissioned as Second Lieutenant and Ensigns in the Armed Forces of the
Philippines upon graduating from the Academy.
This year marks the
initial batch of Grade 12 students under the K to 12 Basic Education Program
who will be graduating by 2018. Grade 12 applicants were allowed to take the
PMAEE provided that they will graduate before April 1, 2018. PMAEE applicants
also come from college-level students and 4th-year High School graduates of the
old curriculum.
