Lady clerk at gov’t hospital gunned down in Pangasinan

TAYUG, Pangasinan — A lady clerk of the Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital in this town was shot dead while on her way to work on Monday, police said.
The Provincial Police Office said the fatal shooting of Marietta Reyes, 56, of Barangay Trenchera, here, happened at 7:50 a.m. on Tamat Street, Zone 3, of the same village.
Chief Insp. Jose L. Abaya II, officer-in-charge of the Tayug Municipal Police Station, said Reyes was driving her Honda Beat motorcycle with temporary Plate No. 0101-464577 when she was attacked by gunmen.
Responding policemen took the victim to the Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
She succumbed to multiple bullet wounds in different parts of the body.
The motive in the attack is now under investigation.
