Mediation turns violent over carabao in Tabuk; man slain


TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Mediation of two contending families at a barangay hall here over a carabao turned violent and led to the killing of a man.
A police report said the shooting, hacking and stabbing incidents happened on July 15 around 4 p.m. here in Tuliao, Calanan wherein the victims were named as Clinton Serquina and his sons Ranny and Ronnie.
The suspects were identified as Lino, Abby, Gonzales and Yadan, all surnamed. Gunnawa.
Investigation disclosed both parties were called at the barangay hall over the missing carabao. 
After the hearing, while on their way home, a heated argument ensued between the families that resulted to violence.
The victims were rushed to Kalinga Provincial Hospital where Clinton was declared dead on arrival by his attending physician due to a hack wound.
Yadan was rushed to Almora General Hospital due to a gunshot wound, while Lino and son Abraham Gunnawa fled and are now the object of a manhunt by police.
Gonzales Gunnawa was arrested and brought to Tabuk police station for interrogation.
