BONTOC, Mountain Province --Inspired by the fresh mandate
given by the electorate in the province, the newly elected provincial officials
publicly announced during their oath-taking to put aside politics and vowed to
work hand in hand with one common goal- to move this province forward.
Last June
28, Congressman-elect Maximo Y. Dalog, Jr. , Vice Governor Francis
O. Tauli; Board Members-elect Federico E. Onsat, Janice L. Barillo, Alexandre
C. Claver and Joshua B. Fronda of District I, Board members-elect Henry D.
Bastian Jr., Donato L. Danglose, Salvador K. Dalang and Randolph T. Awisan of
District II took their oath of office before Executive Judge Sergio T. Angannay
while Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan Jr. took his oath before Presiding Judge
Gaslito A. Dumpayan of Natonin Municipal Circuit Trial Court who is also the
Acting Presiding Judge of Bontoc Municipal Trial Court.
Dalog,
Jr expressed gratitude
to provincial officials for their idea
of conducting a joint oath-taking saying he felt overwhelmed because this
showed how united the officials were. With this unity, expect us to work hand
in hand for the betterment of the province, he said.
“The success of
the province is in our hands, not only on us, officials, we should all be
united as one people of Mountain Province,” Dalog said.
He said delivery of
services and implementation of projects shall be given priority to the
communities who need it most regardless of political affiliation.
He also appealed
to the public that whatever shortcomings of the officials, they should be
informed. “If we can solve it at our own level, why do you need to inform the
public? If we commit mistakes, tell us directly so that we can correct it; we
do not take it negatively but it is one way of learning how we can serve you
better,” he said.
Gov. Bonifacio Lacwasan
Jr., meanwhile, said public service is not a work of just one
person thus he solicited the support of the officials, employees and the people
of the province to work hand in hand for the progress of province.
He assured Dalog
of the provincial officials’ support to the programs and projects of his office
as the Representative of the lone district of the province.
Lacwasan urged the newly
elected members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan led by vice governor-elect
Francis Tauli to continue the good working relationship between the
executive and legislative bodies; to the officials of the ten municipalities to
continue with their good coordination and help in the implementation of the
programs and projects of the government. He assured the municipal officials
that the provincial government gives assistance whatever it can afford for
the good of the province; and to the barangay officials for the continued
implementation of the province’s Barangay Muna Program in which all barangays
in the province shall benefit from this program.
For his part, vice
governor-elect Francis Tauli asked the officials to continue the harmonious
working relationship in providing the best services for the betterment of the
province.
Each of the board
members urged the people to set aside politics and unite as one, and together
work hand in hand for the development of the province.
DILG Provincial Director
Anthony Manolo Ballug reminded the elected leaders of the people’s expectations
from them such as their commitment, engagement and unity. He urged the
officials live up to the challenge, and to the people to support the officials.
