DOLORES, Abra – A card
game at a wake here turned deadly resulting to the death of a player and
wounding of two others in a gunfight.
A police
report said the incident happened Tuesday around 10:30 p.m. here at Barangay
Taping. Killed was Modesto Baldemor
Bergonia, 54, married, farmer while Narciso Pinto Aldaca, 54, widower was
wounded.
The alleged
suspect was identified as Ramie Manangbao Bagsi, 27, security aid,
single of Barangay Buneg, Lacub town.
Investigation
disclosed the victims and suspect were playing a car game called “posoy” at the
wake of Julie B. Piano at Barangay Taping when a heated argument ensued between
the Begonia and Aldaca which prompted both to draw their firearms and shot each
other.
Both
sustained multiple gunshot wounds while Aldaca was hit by stray bullets.
The victims
were rushed by responding police to Dolores Medicare and Community
Hospital.
However, Bergonia
was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Catalino B. Bigornia while Aldaca was
transferred to Abra Provincial Hospital where he was confined.
The suspect
was also brought to Abra Provincial Hospital and admitted.
The Abra
Provincial Crime Laboratory Office team led by Lt. Col. Rillo found at crime
scene a Cal. 45 handgun loaded with five bullets, two fired cartridge cases for
Cal. 45, two cartridges for Cal. 45 and one fired bullet.
The cadaver
of Bergonia was later brought to Tamo Funeral Home at BarangayTalogtog.
Case is
still under investigation.
