Bridge opened in Ilocos, travel time to Abra cut

NUEVA ERA, Ilocos Norte -- A new two-lane bridge has been opened here, the Department of Public Works and Highways said last week.

The newly constructed Centennial Bongo Bridge replaced the old Bongo Bridge that traverses the Padsan River, DPWH regional director Ronnel Tan said.

“The bridge is expected to ease and cut travel time in Ilocos Norte and Abra,” Tan said.

The Bongo Bridge replacement project was implemented in two phases and cost P194.5 million.
